(This post was from December 2012 , but was never published. My bad!)
I just finished a revamping of my website, and the logical thing to do would be to post it here for all to see. And I’m really proud about it!
Well, I’m not yet ready to go prime-time here, only because there’s one field that’s not working, both technically and humanly. It just happens to be the opt-in for my newsletter and subscription to this blog, where I can generate an email list. The fields aren’t working, and I’m not quite done with the bait piece. Hopefully that will all change next week, and I can show it off then.
And of course, being the kind of person I am, I’ll probably want to tinker with it until it’s “perfect,” which it will likely never be. I want to refine the copy and make sure I’ve used the ideas I learned in Heather Lloyd-Martin’s SEO certification program. Because if I’m going to show potential clients I can write SEO copy, why not start with my own website?
But I have to thank a few people here to get me going on doing this, which was motivating me from taking a not-so-great site and turning it into something fab.
- Rebecca Matter at AWAI, for putting together the build a website program that helped me with writing the content and giving it some structure,
- Nick Usborne, for helping me understand why I had to make this website my own, and not have it look ordinary and say even worse, as well his son Tom for putting together a great WordPress-friendly theme program, ProFramework,
- Anita Adamski, whose great eye for design helped me with the look, from the header photo to soon-to-be business logo.
Thanks, everyone! I appreciate what you’ve done to help me out. Watch this space for the big website unveiling!
