Yes, this is first post of 2014, but I’ll just keep things simple for now…
The girls and I headed to Northern Cal for a very quick trip to visit my mom. So quick, these were really the only pictures I took. I think it’s kind of gratifying to know that we were soaking in the sunny weather (mid-60’s, no less) while Colorado was under a blanket of snow and freezing temps.
We almost didn’t make it out here either, because of the horrible winter storms back east, causing a chain reaction through every airport in the US. Long story short for us: freakishly long lines at the Southwest counter at DIA, almost losing my ID at security, running through the C concourse, a 2-hour delay for our connecting flight in Las Vegas, and JRS’s suitcase was missing from the rest of our luggage. Luckily the rest of the trip went very smoothly. Moral of the story: ALWAYS get to the airport 90 minutes before your flight at the check-in counter, no matter what.
We always have to make it a point to come here to Santa Cruz now, just so the girls can wade in the ocean water lacking at home.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday…now it’s on to a new start!
