I’ve learned so much here in terms of my copywriting craft, art and business, I think it was A-OK to take some blogging time off so that I can provide better insights for your copywriting and marketing benefit.
From the power of storytelling in your copy to loving your marketing message, each presentation offered something of great value. I then refine my skills by taking what I heard from each one of these top writers and marketers, just as I do every time I’ve been here.
This is my fourth Bootcamp. I attended two back in 2003 and 2004, when I wasn’t super-confident as a copywriter and really wasn’t passionate about a specialty area.
Believing that writing long sales letters for health and self-help companies was the way to go, I went in that direction. That’s what AWAI focused their teaching on at the time. But it didn’t really click with me, and so for that reason (and a few others) I stopped pursuing the “writer’s life.”
Fast forward to last year, when I was re-starting my copywriting career and became very passionate about the kind of copy I wanted to focus on – online content for the travel and tourism industry. That really has made all the difference.
And being in sunny Delray Beach isn’t that bad either.
In addition to the workshops, I had the chance to network with the presenters and fellow writers. This part can be just as important as taking in valuable information from highly successful professionals.
There hasn’t been one networking event where I’m privileged to look at marketing or writing in a new and undiscovered way.
I’ll be back on track now, writing to you every Thursday and letting you know about all the great resources out there for your online travel marketing. Thanks for all your support!
