So…I discovered a place in downtown Denver that I’m almost reluctant to admit I go to.
Yes, it’s fashionable to bash Starbucks to your hip, PC and/or evolved friends, family and colleagues. It’s too corporate and too huge, they say, and you should go to the locally owned coffee house instead.
If it were only that easy…and if those local coffee places had great views of the downtown skyline, like this one:
I love this Starbucks because it’s got a great vibe. In the summer (and like the unseasonably warm weather we have right now in the Front Range), you can sit out in the sun on some comfy patio furniture and be truly inspired to write, enjoy reading and just chill.
The inside isn’t too shabby either. It doesn’t look like your typical Starbucks, having been a utility warehouse for the city of Denver at one time, and now houses the flagship REI store.
Who cares if it’s a Starbucks? It’s cool in my book…and the coffee is pretty good, too.
